This year, LYNTONIX made its first appearance at BIO Asia, where the company presented its latest R&D progress and introduced its lead product candidate, LTX-568.
LTX-568 is a first-in-class small-molecule drug candidate that selectively targets the serotonin 7 receptor (5-HT7 receptor) in intestinal tissues. It is being developed to address the long-standing unmet medical need for chronic abdominal pain in patients with diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome (IBS-D). LTX-568 is differentiated by its potential to provide safe and effective pain relief with a low risk of adverse effects and, importantly, without the risk of addiction.
During BIO Asia, LYNTONIX actively engaged with potential international strategic partners, including venture capital investors, CMC manufacturers, and biotechnology companies. The company has now formally initiated its fundraising efforts to advance LTX-568 into the next stage of development.
Laboratory-scale production of LTX-568 at the tens-of-grams scale has been completed, and the program is now preparing to advance to kilogram-scale active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) manufacturing. Lyntonix also plans to initiate GLP toxicology studies, representing a critical final step toward IND submission. The company aims to file IND applications in both the United States and Taiwan, laying the foundation for LTX-568 to enter first-in-human clinical trials.
